Edgar Russell
President, CEO
Edgar D. Russell is the President and CEO of ETEK. Mr. Russell’s career spans more than 25 years in computer system engineering, integration, and administration. Mr. Russell is a passionate advocate for open source computing and is setting a new standard for how to implement robust computer systems that efficiently process large amounts of data. His commitment to open source is changing the way federal government customers handle computer network security while complying with federal government standards.
Mr. Russell has spent the majority of his career in the federal government industry, gaining extensive experience in Linux and UNIX operating systems, high-performance computer design, and implementation, and computer virtualization engineering, assembly, and maintenance.
Mr. Russell has received numerous awards for innovation and technical leadership and ingenuity and has been honored with recognition for his contributions to the Ocean Color Virtualization Project at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
A native Marylander of 50 years, Mr. Russell resides with his wife and children in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

R. Gregory Freeland
Executive Vice President, COO
Mr. Freeland is the Executive Vice President and COO of ETEK. Mr. Freeland’s distinguished 40-year career includes: former Chairman of the Board ATEK, Inc. (Mclean, Va.), cofounder of RGII Technologies, Inc. (Annapolis, MD), with a vast array of extensive experience in reporting Quarterly & Yearly Corporate financial forecasts/outlook guidance on the top & bottom lines, business development, M&A, sales pipeline development, portfolio fundraising. As a DoD Analyst, he provided Planning, Programming, Budgeting, Justification, and Execution (PPBE) of major DoD/COCOMs, Intel Agencies, Navy, Army, Air Force major systems acquisition (ACAT 1,2 &3) programs (ships, weapon systems, Aircraft, Satellites, Cybersecurity, RDT&E, Information Technology Capital Planning, Engineering, Science and Intelligence) and Overseas Contingency Operations. Served as United States House & Senate Congressional Staffer on various committees through formulating requirements for various budget authorizations, and appropriations for NASA, FAA, NOAA, USCG, DOE, USDA, DoS, and HHS.
Mr. Freeland oversees the daily operations of ETEK, which include Top & Bottom Line Growth, tactical/strategic planning, and key talent-hiring recommendations to the CEO/President, that will increase/expand ETEK’s Science, Engineering, Technology & Professional services, solutions, capabilities, and product offerings to our CONUS/OCONUS existing and new customers.
Mr. Freeland holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland at College Park. His professional memberships include but are not limited to, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), AFCEA, American Council for Technology/Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), and the American Investment Council (AIC).
